Sun, 12 April 2009 Today I talk about my trip to DC and remind everyone who died for us. Comments[1] |
Your Back! : )
"The Passion of The Christ" is so powerful and moving. I own it on DVD and lent it out to several people during Lent. And I bawled my eyes out too when I saw it in the theater.
Holy Week is also very moving for me. The story of our Salvation history comes alive, especially during this time. Lent and Easter are seasons of renewed faith and springtime. Hopefully, we have taken the time leading up to this celebration of Christ’s suffering, death & resurrection to do just this. Have we offered up our sacrifices in union with Christ’s suffering? Have we died to sin and turned to Christ? Christ is reaching out to each of us. His arms wide open upon the cross, inviting us to Himself. His reselection guiding us in hope and love.
Just a little factoid: Catholics celebrate the season of Easter for 50 days, starting on Easter Sunday (or "Resurrection Sunday" as you called it -- I like that).
God bless,
Joshua
